The School of Legal Studies organised the special lecture VIII of the Motilal Nehru Lecture Series on “Right to Privacy and Data Protection.” The event featured Prof. M. K. Bhandari, Founder and Director of the Global Academy of Law-Tech Education and Research (GALTER), as the chief guest and speaker.
The lecture aimed to highlight the growing importance of privacy and data protection in the digital age. In his address, Prof. Bhandari emphasised the significance of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and discussed its relevance in strengthening the framework for protecting individuals’ personal data.
The session explored the legal and ethical dimensions of privacy rights, with discussions focusing on the importance of safeguarding personal information and the evolving legal frameworks that recognise and protect the right to privacy as a fundamental right. The insightful session provided law students with a deeper understanding of contemporary data-protection challenges and the changing legal landscape, making it an enriching and thought-provoking learning experience.
