The School of Agricultural Sciences organised an educational visit to the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, to provide students with hands-on learning and exposure to advanced agricultural technologies. The event began with a lecture by Dr. Girijesh Mahra, Assistant Professor, Division of Extension Education, IARI, who discussed India’s agricultural development, the Green Revolution, and the contributions of Dr. M.S. Swaminathan and Dr. Norman E. Borlaug, while engaging students with real-life examples.
Students then visited the Indo-Israel Project at IARI, learning about protected cultivation, precision irrigation, and modern crop production techniques. Dr. Anjali Tomar and Ambika Bhandari, Assistant Professors at SOAS, KRMU, guided the visit and explained key practical applications.
Overall, the visit provided students with valuable insights into modern agricultural advancements, research practices, and the integration of classroom learning with field experience.
